So you’ve created your podcast, but you’re only getting a few listeners. How can you get more? One of the most important steps to increase your podcast’s reach is to distribute it to additional places that people are listening from or places where people are looking for podcasts to listen to.
The most popular place to distribute your podcast is iTunes, but there are several other large sites that can get you a lot more listeners. There are also podcast directories that you can submit your podcast to so you can be found more easily.
Many podcast listening apps and directories automatically update from the iTunes API as well, so you may find your podcast listed on sites without submitting.

Prime Day 2017 is over. I hope everyone found some great deals. I’m going to leave this page live and update it next year.
The 3rd annual Amazon Prime Day is coming up on July 11th. Well, officially it kicks off at 9 pm EST on July 10, with a few deals happening earlier…
That means you’ll have a chance to get amazing discounts on podcasting gear. I’ve mentioned before that I got a Blue Yeti microphone for under $90 during Prime Day and you should expect to find deals at least as good this year – last year they discounted over 100,000 products.
As the name might imply, you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime member to take advantage of these deals, but you can sign up for a free 30-day trial here.
We don’t know exactly what items will be discounted yet, but if you add products you’re interested in to a wishlist, Amazon will let you know if they go on sale. Look below for some of the podcasting gear that went on sale in previous years too.
New research from Nielsen just came out in their June 2017 ‘State Of The Media: Audio Today 2017’ report so it seemed like a good time to give an update on the podcast listener landscape with updated statistics. Most of the data is the Edison Research report that came out earlier this year.
There is both an infographic (with embed code) and a Pinterest image for your sharing needs as well! [Read more…] about 2017 Podcast Stats & Facts (New Research From June 2017)
Podcast recording equipment can be confusing to wade through and choose if you’re just starting out. There is a lot of podcast gear you can get but that doesn’t mean you need to get it all – and you can always expand your list of podcast equipment over time.
We are going to highlight the audio recording equipment you will need, as well as some things you may want to get later as you get more serious. There are separate posts about many of these individual items, so feel free to check out those posts for more in-depth info (there will be a link in the respective sections).
