Best External SSDs For Storing Audio & Video (120GB-2TB)

Do you need some extra storage space for all those video and audio files you keep creating?

There are many different options for external storage, but we’re going to focus on external SSDs (solid-state drives) here.

They are fast, small, and secure.

A spinning HDD (hard disk drive) is typically much slower and can be broken easily if dropped or dented.

An SSD does not have any moving parts, making it much more rugged and portable as well.

Even if you don’t need to travel with it, their speed makes them an excellent option to expand your storage capabilities at home with a desktop or laptop.

Before we get into the recommendations, I just want to let you know that brand matters. Cheaper knock-off or no-name brands tend to fail sooner and have much less quality control (if any).

I’m just going to recommend brand-name external SSDs here:

This is a list of the top 100 podcasts in the United States on Apple Podcasts (iTunes). It should automatically update every few days.

Keep in mind, the Apple Podcast charts have been reported to be based on new subscribers, weighted for recency. That means that download numbers don’t necessarily align with this chart.

Want to start your own podcast? Here are the best podcast hosting sites – I use and recommend Buzzsprout.

How To Create (Or Find) Your Podcast RSS Feed On The Top Platforms

You need a podcast RSS feed to submit your podcast to iTunes and other podcast directories.

You’ll typically get your RSS feed from your podcast hosting company. This is by far the easiest way to create a podcast RSS feed. Details below.

Or you can get (or create) your feed from your own website if you use something like Squarespace or the PowerPress plugin for WordPress.

Make sure you don’t upload your audio files directly to website host (with Squarespace being the one exception) as that will cause major issues. You will need to host your .mp3’s with a dedicated podcast host.

Special Offer For Our Readers:

You want to make sure you submit a feed with only your podcast episodes, not a combination of blog posts and podcast episodes.

I’ll show you how to create (or find) your podcast-only RSS feed on the most popular platforms, but first, there are some requirements you need to make sure you follow before trying to submit your feed:

Best External Android Microphones For Video & Podcasting

Whether you’re shooting video or recording a new podcast episode, you need to make sure you have great audio quality.

The good news is that for the last couple years, video quality included with your Android smartphone is probably top-notch.

But the built-in microphone in your Galaxy or Pixel phone just won’t cut it.

There are several excellent external microphones in 2026 that will work with your Android phone – and there are different styles depending on your needs.

The most popular option that works well in a variety of situations is a lavalier mic (they clip to your shirt, allowing hands-free use) but there are a few shotgun-style mics that plug into the headphone jack (if you have one) as well.

You can also use other microphones that are designed for digital audio recorders or DSLRs (like these on-camera shotgun mics) but you will need a TRS to TRRS adapter to plug them in.

This post will just focus on microphones that don’t need adapters to keep things simple, but I wanted to point out that there are many options to improve your audio quality.

We also have a separate article specifically for iPhone mics (with many options that use the Lightning connector) if you find yourself needing one of those too.
